Cavalli dresses Disaronno

December 6, 2015

A cool early Summer evening with chilled out acoustic sounds live in Justin Hemmes private dining terrace was the setting for the third fashionable installment of Disaronno collaborations. The outrageous, over the top Italian designer Roberto Cavalli dressed this tipple which was our aperitivo for the evening. A fashionable intimate crowd then dined on some of Merivales best offerings and washed it all down with Ruinart bubbles.

There are many collaborations these days and this was an exceptionally good fit. The perfect beverage for hot summer days, the Disaronno sour will impress well after the sun has gone down.

This impressive bottle will turn heads in any bar or private gathering, and you will be the envy of your mates if you mix this bad boy up for their aperitivo. The follow is how you make this delicious cocktail-

Ingredients-

45 ml Disaronno, 30 ml lemon juice, 15 ml sugar syrup and 1 egg white.

Method-

Shake and strain into a double rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and maraschino cherry.

Thanks for having us and putting on such a wonderful event Stella Concepts.

Stay stylish,

JL

Sydney Summer Sailing Season Launch

November 29, 2015

Cheers! Ah, the perks of the job. Occasionally I have opportunity to attend an event with industry and personal friends and just chill out. The launch of the sailing season on the 18th of November was just that. Sydney had turned on the hair dryers to max (40 degrees) and what better way to escape the heat than on Sydney Harbour. Its just what the doctor ordered, well that and Boizel Champagne. Guests were provided with fluffy slippers to soak up the luxury experience. Event food is often a no go zone for me but these guys put on quite the show, the food was epic! Throw in a two piece jazz band (is it a band if there is only two of them?) a classic Sydney Harbour sunset over the city and you have the perfect combination for a fun afternoon out. There were TV folk, famous bloggers, a supermodel and the odd ex Miss Universe making up this pretty party.

Oscar ll at 104 ft was very impressive. Comfortably holds 64 and sleeps 10, this luxury yacht is a sight to behold. Whether its a corporate function, Christmas party or private affair for a few hours , a day or the whole weekend Oscar ll is the ultimate luxury party yacht. Book Oscar2 for your next adventure and soak up the decadence.

How to measure yourself for a shirt

November 24, 2015

So many of us are now buying online, in fact men are buying at a faster rate than women at the moment.

Buying online is a minefield for the novice. Who really fancies buying something and then being disappointed on its arrival? Men don't love shopping at the best of times, so to think you would then need to package and send the item back and order all over again is an absolute punish.

Wrong size, wrong colour and style being completely different to the image - are some of the key problem areas for men shopping online. That brings me to this tutorial, 'How to measure yourself for a shirt' is a practical guide to give you peace of mind when buying your next shirts online. Have a watch and let me know what you think or even share your personal experiences, good, bad or indifferent buying online.

Stay stylish,

JL

How to measure yourself for a suit

November 22, 2015

Did you think this was even possible? Measuring yourself for a suit has always seemed so daunting and best left to the professionals right? Contrary to this misnomer, measuring yourself for a suit so that you can purchase online is easier than drinking beer on a hot summers day, well almost...This tutorial that the legends from MJ Bale produced will be brief and informative so you can get back to work after a quick quiz online.

There are so many suits options for purchase online so give the whole measure yourself a go. A full length mirror and a measuring tape (not a retractable carpenters tape) would suffice, but if you have an able mate/ partner then by all means get some assistance. The tutorial is pretty easy to follow, so let me know how you get on.

Stay stylish,

JL

Tip: check the size and build of the model wearing the suit online to give you an idea of how you compare size wise. If there is a video of the suit being worn, watch it.

How to tie a half-windsor knot

November 19, 2015

Here is the latest man-skill you need to know fellas. I have teamed up with my mates at MJ Bale to share this 'how to tie a half windsor knot' tutorial, so you never get stuck with a less than epic knot for your next important meeting.

Whether it's a job interview, meeting royalty or your best mates wedding the half windsor is essential in your arsenal of tie knots that you should have down pat. The basic ideal here is that after a couple of cracks at this, you will be able tie this knot in the lift without using a mirror. Let me know how you get on in the comments section below.

Stay stylish,

JL
